We kindly inform you that after joint discussions with all interested parties, it was decided to cancel the 18th ISF Gymnasiade (Summer School Games) – Jinjiang 2020, which was to be held in Jinjiang, Fujian Province, China, from November 26 to December 3, 2022.
Since Jinjiang won the rights to host the 18th Gymnasiade in October 2017, all organizing parties have maintained active communication and cooperation, and the requirements for hosting the event have basically been met. However, in light of the current global COVID-19 pandemic and the feedback from ISF members, we absolutely believe that we must give a high priority to the safety of the young generations of student-athletes and all participants. Therefore, we regret to inform you that the event will be cancelled.
We would like to thank you all for your constant cooperation and thank the Chinese School Sports Federation and the Executive Committee of the 18th Gymnasiade for all the efforts they have made. We sincerely hope that we will continue to strengthen cooperation with the China School Sports Federation and Jinjiang in the future, and jointly promote the further development of youth sports and cultural exchanges around the world.
