2022 Asian Air Rifle Championship: India’s Arjun Babuta and Mehuli Ghosh win gold within the mixed team rifle

2022 Asian Air Rifle Championship: India's Arjun Babuta and Mehuli Ghosh win gold in the mixed team rifle

India Arjuna Babuta and Mehuli Ghosh won a gold medal in the 10m air rifle mixed team 2022 Asian Windbreaker Championships in Daegu, South Korea, on Monday after defeating his compatriots Kiran Ankush Jadhav and Elavenil Valarivan in the finals.

Arjun Babuta and Mehuli Ghosh, both medal winners at the ongoing South Korean Championships, teamed up to defeat Kiran and former world No. 1 and Olympian Elavenil Valarivan 16-10 in the gold medal match.

Interestingly, both Arjun Babuta and Kiran Ankush Jadhav were members of India’s men’s air rifle team event that won the gold medal yesterday. Mehuli Ghosh and Elavenil Valarivan were also teammates on the women’s gold team.

As in the case of the seniors, the shooters from India also finished 1:2 in the mixed junior air rifle 10m teams.

Olympian Divyansh Singh Panwar and Ramita secured the gold medal in the event by defeating compatriots Sri Karthik Sabari Raj Ravishankar and Nancy 17-11.

Indian shooters she also secured two individual medals that day, with Kanishka Dagar taking bronze in the women’s 10m air pistol event. Korean Oh Ye Jin won the gold medal and fellow Korean Kim Yeonwoo secured the silver medal.

Sandeep Bishnoi won the gold medal in the junior 10m air pistol competition.

The airgun shooting championship, which takes place at the Daegu International Shooting Range, includes junior, youth and senior competition in airgun and air pistol competitions.
