The first round of voting for the 2022 World Games Athlete and Team of the Year will end on January 22 and will determine the finalists: 10 athletes and 7 teams with the most votes will advance to the final round. That’s why sports enthusiasts and athletes have 3 days to make sure their favorites stay in the race. Voting takes place on the IWGA website.
23 players and 12 teams are fighting for places in the final round. This final round will run until January 31, when the winners and runners-up will be announced. The top three will receive trophies and prizes.
When voting, fans of The World Games can choose their favorite in two clicks. Each voting participant may vote for a candidate – Player, Team of the Year or both – once every 24 hours on The World Games website. Votes should be cast for two candidates each time. The first-choice candidate shall be given two votes and the second-choice candidate one vote. Fans can vote separately for both Sportsman of the Year and Team of the Year. The current ranking and number of votes cast for each candidate will be displayed on the IWGA voting page as the voting period ends.
This is the ninth time that the IWGA has organized a vote for Athlete of the Year.
