Archives World Games 2022 is complete now. Nearly 620 videos with over 690 hours of playback and over 15,800 photos from the 11th Games in Birmingham, USA this summer are available in the archive of the International World Games Association (IWGA).

Users can access the platform by sending an email to archive@iwga.sport. IWGA stakeholders, including the 39 IWGA member federations and the National Olympic Committees/National Sports Organizations of participating countries and host cities, can use materials from The World Games 2022 free of charge to promote the event. Commercial users have access based on a rights agreement that is concluded on an individual basis.

From the Games in Birmingham, the IWGA has archived all television production, produced by the main broadcaster ISB based in Madrid. It contains video images of decisions in 34 sports, 58 sports and 223 medal events. The opening and closing ceremonies of the Games in Birmingham are also available. In addition, photos taken by professional photographers on behalf of the Birmingham Organizing Committee and the IWGA during the eleven days of the Games are available. The application search function makes it easy to find the resources you want. It is possible to search by sport, country, date and even name.

The IWGA archive has documented the World Games since their start in 1981 in Santa Clara, USA. Almost 2,000 videos with over 1,150 hours of playback and over 30,000 photos from the eleven editions of the multi-sport event are “on the shelves” of the library. The IWGA maintains its archive with the cooperation and support of the Olympic Channel.

World games is a multi-sport event organized every four years by the International World Games Association, organized with the support of the International Olympic Committee. The 2022 World Games took place in Birmingham, Alabama, USA from July 7-17, 2022. 3,600 athletes from 34 sports and 100 countries participated in the games. The 12th edition of The World Games will be held in Chengdu, CHN in 2025.
