A healthy campus in Portugal: Maiêutica shows the way

Maia University and the Polytechnic Institute (Maiêutica) recently organized the Healthy Campus Days 2023, a one-day event that covered all areas of the program run by FISU and culminated in a sports event for all. The institution has developed hundreds of initiatives over the past two years and has successfully met the 100 criteria required by the Healthy Campus program.

A total of 123 institutions are developing this program in 40 countries on five continents, and 53 have already been certified. Maiêutica is one of 22 institutions that have received the Platinum Degree – the highest level certification.

“Such a program can only be implemented by committed leaders with motivated teams,” said Fernando Parente, director of the FISU Healthy Campus program, who was present at the closing ceremony of the event via videoconference. “I congratulate the management of the University and the fantastic human resources that contribute to the daily operation of programs, events and activities for the benefit of the health and well-being of students. I also congratulate all those who are part of the community that have built these wonderful fields of activity in Maia and will continue to develop them,” he added.
