Riyadh seasonal team vs Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) was always meant to be an all-star affair football icons Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi, Kylian Mbappe and Neymar Jr in action at King Fahd Stadium in Saudi Arabia on Thursday.
But in addition to soccer superstars, Riyadh’s 68,000 crowd witnessed yet another icon, Amitabh Bachchanwho was the guest of honor for the evening.
Amitabh Bachchan, known as shahenshah (King of Kings) Bollywood, before kick-off, he was taken onto the pitch in the presence of PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi. Legendary Indian actor he then shook hands with players from both teams, including Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi, and allowed himself to interact briefly.
“Evening in Riyadh… What a night… Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi, Mbape, Neymar playing together… and your really invited guest for the kick off… PSG vs Riyadh Seasons… Amazing!!!” Amitabh Bachchan wrote expressing his excitement on social media.
The match that started was also not devoid of emotions. While Cristiano Ronaldo scored twice, Lionel Messi scored the first goal that set the tone for the evening. Both teams scored nine goals in the match. PSG eventually won the match 5-4 with 10 men after Juan Bernat was sent off in the first half.
Ronaldo, who moved from Manchester United to Al Nassr FC after the 2022 FIFA World Cup, is due to make his debut for the club on Sunday against Ettifaq FC in the Saudi Pro League.
Thursday’s match was Messi’s first matchup with Ronaldo since 2020 and the 37th in their career. This could be the last meeting between these two football titans on the pitch.
