Congratulations to Nina Holt from Germany, IWGA Athlete of the Month for September 2022.
It’s a golden year for Life Saver from Germany. At the World Championships in Riccione, Italy last week, the 19-year-old won two gold, two silver and three bronze medals. Nina Holt was unbeatable in the 50m Mannequin Carry and 100m Rescue Medley finals, where she set a new world record. Her team won silver medals in the dummy and variables relays, and in the relay 200 meters of swimming with obstaclesShe took third place in the discipline, as well as in the steeplechase relay and the ocean relay with the German team.
Nina Holt is indeed used to gold. This year, she has already won four gold and one bronze medal at The World Games 2022 in Birmingham. In the ranking of multimedia medalists, the competitor from Germany took second place. Already in March, Holt set a world record in the Rescue Medley at the German Championships in Warendorf. A golden year indeed for Nina Holt!
The World Rescue Championships were originally scheduled to take place in 2020, but due to the coronavirus pandemic, the competition had to be postponed for two years. For Nina Holt, they came at the right time.
Since November 2021, Life Saver has been a member of the Sports Promotion Group of the German Armed Forces in Warendorf. When asked why she prefers to compete in saving lives over swimming, she replies, “It’s harder.”
World games is a multi-sport event organized every four years by the International World Games Association, organized with the support of the International Olympic Committee. The 2022 World Games took place in Birmingham, Alabama, USA from July 7-17, 2022. 3,600 athletes from 34 sports and 100 countries participated in the Games. The 12th edition of The World Games will be held in Chengdu, CHN in 2025.
