Badminton Malaysia Open 2023: Viktor Axelsen books a spot in the Malaysia Open final as the top two seed women also win the semi-finals

Olympic Champion and No. 1 seed Wiktor Axelsen was the winner of two sets in the badminton semi-final Malaysia Open on Saturday (January 14).

Dane defeated Tsuneyama Kant from Japan 21-7, 21-15 to secure a spot in the men’s singles final.

This is Axelsen’s ninth consecutive final at the BWF Super 1000 level, a new record.

It will face another Japanese shuttle, Naraoka Kodai for the title in Kuala Lumpur. In the second semi-final, Naraoka defeated Thailand’s Kunlavut Vitidsarn 21:17, 19:21, 21:17.

The Malaysia open The women’s singles final will feature the top two seeded players

Number 1 in the ranking Yamaguchi Akane beating japan Tai Tzu Ying from Chinese Taipei. Result 21:18, 21:16.

Second seeding of the People’s Republic of Korea Se Young won a thrilling early semi-final by defeating fourth seed China Chen Yu Fei 21-12, 19-21, 21-9.

The finals of the first BWF World Tour event in 2023 will take place on Sunday.
