Olympic Champion and No. 1 seed Wiktor Axelsen was the winner of two sets in the badminton semi-final Malaysia Open on Saturday (January 14).
Dane defeated Tsuneyama Kant from Japan 21-7, 21-15 to secure a spot in the men’s singles final.
This is Axelsen’s ninth consecutive final at the BWF Super 1000 level, a new record.
It will face another Japanese shuttle, Naraoka Kodai for the title in Kuala Lumpur. In the second semi-final, Naraoka defeated Thailand’s Kunlavut Vitidsarn 21:17, 19:21, 21:17.
