The FISU World Forum 2022, which will take place on December 5-9 in Cartago (Costa Rica), had the honor of being presented at the National Parliament by Laura Sancho Martínez, Executive Director of the Forum.
The presentation was attended by the Vice-President of the Republic Marie Munive, Deputy and Member of the Executive Committee of FISU Mrs. Rosaura Mendez and the authorities of Costa Rican Universities.
Under the motto “University sport as a driving force for sustainable development”, the Forum will be held on the campus of the Costa Rican Institute of Technology (photo above).
“I am very excited that Costa Rica is hosting such an important and prestigious international event,” said the Vice President of Costa Rica. “This is a great opportunity for sports organizations to exchange knowledge and promote the role of sport in fostering inclusion, discipline, respect and tolerance.”
With more than 60 national university sports federations in attendance – some 250 people from five continents – the 2022 FISU World Forum will be a unique opportunity for many to reconnect.
“This will allow us to meet in person again after such a long period of the pandemic and open a new phase of face-to-face activities. This is crucial for FISU,” said Rosaura Mendez (left photo), who is also a member of the Organizing Committee.
The Organizing Committee is ready to show the FISU family the best of Costa Rica. And in a country that is home to natural wonders such as volcanoes, beaches, forests, unique flora and fauna, there are many, as well as projects and initiatives that combine sport, science, sustainable development and innovation at the local and regional level, there are many.
