Some of the world’s top badminton players will blow their horns 2023 Asian Mixed Badminton Team Championship in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, February 14-19.
Defenders of champions Malaysia head up Group B, led by the world’s fourth men’s singles player Lee Zii Jia and their all-star male doubles Wooi Yik Soh AND Aaron Chia.
They will need all that firepower against their Group B rivals Indiawho can boast of being rejuvenated PV Sindhu, Commonwealth Games Men’s Singles Champion Laksa Sen, and in form HS Prannoy.
The People’s Republic of China were drawn in Group A and brought in seasoned officials such as Zhao Junpengwho was a member of his country’s 2019 gold medal team and current Olympic gold medalist in mixed doubles Dong Ping Huang.
Elsewhere, keep an eye on yourself Singapore in Group A, the challenge of which will be led by the former world champion in men’s singles Loh Kean Yew.
Being in Group C, third in the world in men’s singles and an Olympic bronze medalist Antoni Ginting will lead Indonesia.
Each match will feature men’s singles, women’s singles, men’s doubles and mixed doubles in the round-robin group stage, with the top two teams from each group qualifying for the quarter-finals.
