ISF and WDSF confirm partnership agreement

The ISF and the World DanceSport Federation (WDSF) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to jointly promote DanceSport and its many educational and health benefits to students around the world.

As part of the deal, DanceSport will be included in the ISF sports program for its events such as the World School Championships and Gymnasiade.

The ISF and WDSF recognize the role sport can play in promoting the values ??of respect, solidarity, tolerance, equality, friendship, education and fair play. The two organizations will work together to use DanceSport as a tool for inclusion, development and gender equality, among other things.

“Our partnership with the ISF is a great opportunity for WDSF to reach out to the younger generation and show them not only how much fun DanceSport can be, but also the many wonderful benefits that dance can bring” said WDSF First Vice-President Tony Tilenni. “DanceSport is perfect for young people because it teaches them discipline, integration, social interaction, mental agility and much, much more – not to mention all the great health benefits. The WDSF is very much looking forward to this collaboration with the ISF.”

SF President Laurent Petrynka said: “This partnership is a fantastic opportunity for the world of school sport to further develop opportunities for youth to engage with DanceSport and gain new experiences around the world through sport and education. With the support of the World DanceSport Federation, I look forward to further development of ISF DanceSport events and the growth of sport in the world of school sports as we begin this strong and fruitful partnership.”

National WDSF member organizations are encouraged to work with their respective ISF member federations to share information and maximize support for participation in ISF events. The ISF will promote DanceSport as part of school sport around the world.
