Cooperation was established between the ISF and World Taekwondo (WT), supporting the development of Taekwondo in the world of School Sport.

MANCHESTER, UK (October 21, 2022) – On Friday, October 21, World Taekwondo President Chungwon Choue and General Secretary Jeongkang Seo hosted ISF President Laurent Petrynek, accompanied by ISF Continental President for the Americas Jose Martin Sanchez Tenorio in Manchester for the 2022 Manchester Taekwondo World Grand Prix for the Memorandum of Understanding signing ceremony (MoU) between the two federations.

Through this newly established partnership, the overall goal is to further support and develop the sport of Taekwondo and its use as an educational tool for youth. This Covenant will increase the promotion of Taekwondo in schools and school sporting events, both nationally and internationally, by increasing awareness of the sport and encouraging more youth to practice the sport from an early age through better cooperation and communication with local authorities.

ISF 2023 competition program Organization of taekwondo events with World School Taekwondo Championships in Mazatlán, Mexico and ISF U15 Gymnasiade in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil

The sport of taekwondo will be played twice in the ISF 2023 event calendar, and the city of Mazatlán, Mexico will host the ISF World School Taekwondo Championship from 27this june to 3r&d July and Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, hosting the 2ndn.d edition of the ISF U15 Gymnasiade from 19p to 27this September. The ISF members hosting these events, the Mexican School Sports Federation (FEMEDEES) and the Brazilian School Sports Federation (CBDE), are in the process of preparing all the logistics of the event at the highest level, ready to welcome students from all over the world, further demonstrating their strong commitment to school sports at the international level, being one of the most active members in ISF events.
