The ISF Gymnasiade 2024 Organizing Committee held a press conference on Wednesday, October 5 to announce further details of the event, which will take place in Bahrain in October 2024 under the auspices of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.
Speaking at the conference, the First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, Chairman of the General Authority for Sports and Chairman of the Bahrain Olympic Committee, His Highness Sheikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, emphasized the Kingdom’s commitment to the success of this global event. He underlined the coordinated efforts by all stakeholders and stakeholders that reflect the unity of Team Bahrain’s spirit and contribute to the Kingdom’s success in hosting various international sporting events.
His Majesty reaffirmed the importance of sports in the formation of societies, especially school sports, which take place at an age when sports skills can be discovered and improved, stating that the leadership will continue to support the sports movement in various sectors.
For his part, the Chairman of the ISF Gymnasiade 2024 Executive Organizing Committee, Ishaq Abdulla Ishaq, gave a shorthand detailing the events that will take place during Gymnasiade 2024. He explained that the competition will run for 10 consecutive days, with 5,000 students from over 80 different countries. He stated that the Gymnasiade would include 25 different sports and that 14 places were allocated to host these different games.
ISF President Laurent Petrynka also highlighted the progress Bahrain has made in the field of sports and sports tourism. He confirmed that the Kingdom is the preferred venue for these games due to the continuous support received by the sector’s management, along with modern infrastructure and distinctive facilities.
President Petrynka also added that Gimnazjada will cover a wide range of sports, including archery, badminton, 3×3 basketball, beach volleyball, boxing, fencing, gymnastics, handball, judo, karate, swimming, table tennis, taekwondo, tennis, and wrestling. others.
