Join our Mission 2030 Workshop: Integrating Cultural Heritage, Sport and Physical Activity


We are pleased to announce that “Integrating Cultural Heritage, Sport and Physical Activity”, the ninth event in the TAFISA Mission 2030 workshop series, will take place on May 4, 2023 from 13:00 – 15:00 (UTC+2) by TAFISA in cooperation with the SPACHE project.

According to the UNESCO definition, cultural heritage “includes tangible (movable, immovable and underwater) and intangible cultural heritage embedded in artifacts, sites or monuments of cultural and natural heritage.” These heritage sites can be used as resources and platforms to improve sport for all and physical activity practices. To this end, a common understanding of what physical activity and sport are in the context of cultural heritage and the interaction between these concepts should be created.

The workshop aims to provide participants with a platform to explore how to increase physical activity through heritage sites and make more heritage sites available for sport and physical activity. We will have the opportunity to share success stories and best practices on the relationship between cultural heritage, sport and physical activity. In addition, we will jointly explore innovative solutions for preserving cultural heritage through sport for all.

By the end of the workshop, participants will have a better understanding of the value and contribution of cultural heritage to the development of sport for all and strategies for the protection and use of resources from sport, physical activity and cultural heritage.
