On May 2-3, a TAFISA delegation consisting of President Wolfgang Baumann (Germany) together with TAFISA Vice-President Denis Karakasis from the Ministry of Culture and Sport/General Secretariat for the Center for Sports and Physical Activity from the Netherlands joined the EU Sport Forum, which was held in Stockholm as part of the Swedish Presidency of the Council of the European Union. The two-day event was opened on May 2 by the EU Commissioner for Innovation, Research, Culture, Education and Youth Mariya Gabriel, who was accompanied by the Swedish Minister of Social Affairs and Health Jakob Forssmed and Member of the European Parliament, as well as the co-chairman of the European Parliament Sport Team Tomasz Frankowski. Panel discussions on topics such as ‘Women in Sport: From Foundations to Leadership’ and ‘Integrity in Sport’ lined up the agenda, along with high-profile speeches and a variety of parallel sessions, creating an inspiring event which was also accompanied by the #BeInclusive ceremony of the EU Sport Awards.

The forum also provided an excellent opportunity to exchange information with key stakeholders, and a TAFISA delegation met with ENGSO President Stefan Bergh to share information on the current partnership between the two organizations and explore places for future cooperation.
