TAFISA participates within the Summit of Sport, Medicine and Health 2023

On June 22-24, 2023, the Summit on Sport, Medicine and Health (SMHS) was held in Hamburg, Germany. With the participation of 1,650 professionals including doctors, scientists, therapists, trainers and enthusiasts from around the world, the summit aimed to advance its vision of inspiring people to live active lives and establishing sport and exercise as fundamental pillars of individual and social well-being.

During the three-day event, TAFISA organized a session on “Activating Cities for a Better World”. This insightful session was moderated by Gaetan Garcia, Head of Operations at TAFISA, and featured prominent speakers who shed light on empowering cities for a healthier world.

TAFISA President Wolfgang Baumann took the stage to give an engaging introduction on “Activation of cities as part of Mission 2030: For a better world through sport for all‘ followed by a keynote speech by Alister Dalrymple, Secretary General of Evaleo, who shared his views on ‘The Global Active City Project: helping cities reach their full potential‘.

One of the highlights of the session was the presentation of three case studies from Hamburg, Lillehammer and Graz. Each case study presented unique strategies and initiatives that successfully integrated sport and physical activity into urban life, promoting healthier lifestyles and supporting inclusive communities.
