The ban on extending the mandate of the FISU Executive Committee is decided by the Extraordinary General Assembly

FISU held an Extraordinary General Assembly (EGA) online today to consider a proposal to extend the mandate of the FISU Executive Committee for another two years, until 2025.

The EGM was attended by 81 FISU Members with the right to vote. EGA members voted 41 in favor to 36 against. As a result, the two-thirds majority required for the adoption of the proposal was not reached.

Therefore, FISU will hold elections for the positions of the FISU Executive Committee in November 2023.

The Extraordinary General Meeting was overseen by the Chairman of the FISU Legal Committee and voting was conducted through LUMI, a leading provider of online voting systems widely used in the Olympic Movement.
