The European Network of Academic Sports Services (ENAS) organized its 24th Forum in Portugal

Recently, the 24th edition of ENAS Forum and Assembly 2022 took place in Porto. More than 150 members of sports centers and services from Universities from all over Europe exchanged thematically Communication in college and university sports.

The two-day Pre-Forum allowed participants to run a marathon, visit the northern regions of Portugal, where they visited sports facilities and other sports-related infrastructure, and get to know the University of Porto, the organizer of the ENAS event, better.

Many well-known speakers spoke or presented at the Forum itself, including Joana Carvalho, Vice-Rector for International Relations, Social Responsibility and Sport of the University of Porto, Mel Parker, President of ENAS, Jorge Sequeira, author of the book “Dar ao Pedal”, Kátia Almeida, psychologist Clinician and Social Entrepreneur, Nuno Jerónimo, founder of “O Escritório”, Luís Soares, Rock in Rio’s International Marketing Manager, Raúl Santos, PR Director, University of Porto, Andy Allford, Director of Sport at the University of Birmingham, and Jorge Ferreira, Production Area Manager IKEA Group.

Participants also had the opportunity to learn more about ENAS, the 2025 FISU World University Games and the FISU Healthy Campus program.

“The conference was a success, more than 150 participants had an excellent experience, especially the topics presented by experts from various fields,” said Bruno Almeida, sports director of the University of Porto. “This is sure to inspire new ideas to improve the quality of sports services in all countries and ensure healthier campus conditions.”

FISU signed a Memorandum of Understanding with ENAS last September to encourage European universities to join the ENAS network and promote FISU’s Campus Healthy Program.

The University of Porto is Healthy Campus Platinum certified and previously hosted the FISU World University Championship Rugby 7 in 2010 and Beach Volleyball in 2014.
