February 6, 2023 – After a devastating earthquake struck Turkey on Monday morning, it was announced in an official letter from the Turkish government that all sporting events in the country have been cancelled.
Due to the “force majeure” situation, we would like to inform you about the cancellation of the ISF Winter Gymnasiade 2023 scheduled for February 11-19 in Erzurum.
On behalf of the entire ISF family, we would like to express our deepest sympathy to the people of Türkiye during this difficult time. Our thoughts and support are with the victims, their families and all Türkiye residents who are recovering from this traumatic event.
The ISF wishes to express its full solidarity with the Turkish people and hopes that they will be able to overcome this difficult trial with great patience, determination and courage.
