Valerie Lebondo appointed ISF Gender Equality Coordinator

On March 3 in Belgrade, Serbia, ISF President Laurent Petrynka addressed the General Assembly on the issue of gender equality and stressed the urgent need to increase the participation of girls in school sports. To this end, he announced his decision to appoint Valerie Lebondo from Gabon to lead the case at the ISF,

“Your mission is to impose a strong strategy to overcome gender differences in school sports. We trust you to do a great job and give you our full support.”
Newly nominated Valerie Lebondo commented: “I am proud to receive this mission from the President and the ISF and can assure you that I will give my best. I invite everyone to support me in this task.”

She added about her mission

“I hope that together with the members of the Executive Committee, we will be able to introduce a policy that ensures equal participation of men and women in sport. Sport enables the full development of a person, regardless of gender.”

Valerie Lebondo is a physical education teacher, school director at the Ministry of National Education in Gabon. She is also a retired basketball player and has been an active member of the ISF family since 2018.
