The introductory meeting of ISF President Laurent Petrynka and Her Excellency Sheikh Hind Bint Hamad Al Thani, Vice President and General Director of the Qatar Foundation, was held in Qatar to bring the two organizations closer together around the same goals and vision.
A few months ago, the International Olympic Committee selected the members of its Education Committee, and the final composition included both Mr. Petrynka and Her Excellency Sheikh Hind Bint Hamad Al Thani.
These roles focus on promoting education based on Olympic values ??and creating activities related to educating young people through sport.
ISF activities and events engage school athletes and create platforms for their global development through sport, education and culture, tackling gender inequality in sport, youth physical inactivity, safe sports and more.
This meeting was an opportunity to share and exchange the visions, goals and missions that ISF and the Qatar Foundation share while tackling future challenges in sport and education, with both sides committed to engaging with these topics in the near future through specific programs .
The main themes were to draw attention to girls’ sport and women’s empowerment, as well as the importance of physical education at primary and secondary level.
Sharing the same vision and goals, with an ongoing mission focused on global youth development through sports and education tools, ISF and the Qatar Foundation can be ready to face future challenges that will bring new opportunities.
