Journey to the city has just been released, exactly 173 days before the opening of the Chengdu 2021 FISU World University Games.
The 3D animated film features Rongbao, the mascot of the Games, and Ne Zha, the main character of the Chinese animated megahit. In this film, the characters Ne Zha and Rongbao begin their journey in Chengdu: competing in martial arts in front of Qingcheng Mountain, rowing in the Min River, and fencing at the Jinsha Site Museum.
They show the beauty of sport and nature. In addition, Bian Lian of Sichuan Opera and San Da Pao, two of China’s intangible cultural heritage, highlight the city’s cultural appeal.

When the Beijing Winter Olympics ended in February 2022, Rongbao, a panda from Chengdu, took over from Bing Dwen Dwen to tell the world China’s story through sport and friendship.
