In a sport where there is a discussion about who is the best in history – z Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant and Larry Bird all in the mix, two-time Olympic gold medalist James would certainly speed up his case in conversation by surpassing Abdul-Jabbar’s total.
As of now (January 3, 2023), James is 485 points unofficially, before the Lakers game against the Miami Heat on Wednesday, January 4.
The man from Akron, Ohio, is currently averaging 29 points per game this season. If he maintains this level, he looks set to become the NBA’s new all-time leading scorer on February 4 when the Lakers face the New Orleans Pelicans.
